Hiking in Podstrana: Strožanac – St. George on Perun
This attractive hiking trail connects the coastline with the Perunsko peak (441 m). It starts at the Tourist Office in Strožanac, passes by the Church of Our Lady in Siti and olive groves, and then climbs through oak forest up to the small Church of St. George at the top.
The trail is about 2.5 km long and takes around an hour and a half to reach the summit. It is well-marked, equipped with signposts and resting spots. From the peak, you can enjoy spectacular views of the sea and the surrounding mountains.
Hiking Trail Quarry Perun – Ethno Village Gornja Podstrana
This 7 km long trail connects the former Perun quarry with the eco-ethno village of Gornja Podstrana. The first third of the route ascends to around 300 m above sea level, while the rest follows a gravel path with stunning views of the sea and the limestone ridge of Perun.
The trail is perfect for hiking, jogging, and cycling. Along the way you will find the chapel of St. Fabian and Sebastian, while in Gornja Podstrana you can discover old stone houses and sacred sites that preserve the spirit of the past.
Active Holiday near Split: Hiking Trail Mutogras – Gornja Podstrana
This short but exciting trail (2.5 km) starts right by the sea in Mutogras. The first section is steep and leads to the Mura spring, after which the path continues more gently towards Gornja Podstrana. The total hike takes about 40 minutes.

Gornja Podstrana is a starting point for several attractive excursions:
- Climb to the Pišćenica mound and the Church of St. George on Vršina with panoramic views,
- Walk towards the village of Jesenice (6 km of gravel road along the coast and hills),
- Circular Way of the Cross (3 km) – ideal for a shorter hike with views,
- Ascent to the Križ peak (533 m) and the prehistoric hillfort Obloženica.
From Gornja Podstrana there is also a 2 km paved road leading down to the beach of St. Martin – perfect for combining mountain and sea in one day.
